AfBAA – The African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) was created in 2012 by visionary Founding Members with a mandate to facilitate the necessary conditions for an impressive and sustainable growth of business aviation in Africa.
Vision: To establish Business Aviation as an asset that is recognised, valued and supported by governments, their respective Civil Aviation Authorities, enterprises, entrepreneurs and business leaders throughout Africa.
Mission: AfBAA will promote the understanding and benefits that Business Aviation provides for the continent’s economic development and prosperity through its unwavering commitment to the organisation’s Guiding Principles, thus offering assistance and support to enterprises, entrepreneurs, business leaders, governments and their respective Civil Aviation Authorities
As Addis Ababa is the political capital of Africa, capital of one of the continent’s fastest growing economies, and a major aviation hub in its own right; there is no better city to serve as AfBAA’s first chapter. Ethiopia has an established culture in aviation, together with current extensive infrastructure developments. The objective of AfBAA-Ethiopia Chapter (AfBAA-EC) is to enhance and build upon the current state of aviation, by serving as AfBAA’s representative of business aviation to local government bodies, aviation stakeholders, and the media. AfBAA-EC intends to be proactive in its approach to legislative and regulatory matters and will strive to maintain solid working relationships with government branches and agencies.
AfBAA-EC is a community that will not only serve as the local representative, but also a local association with affiliation and full support of AfBAA, including an annual/bi-annual AfBAA sanctioned general assembly of all stakeholders in the business/general aviation sector. By combing the expertise and network of AfBAA along with appropriate representation at the local level, AfBAA-EC will further enhance efforts to grow the sector, and most importantly allow us to positively influence the future of business and general aviation in Ethiopia and the region.
